What to Wear?

To start off you will need leggings or something without a seam so that your legs are not rubbed – beware, jeans can rub badly. Footwear should have a small heal. Most trainers and some wellington boots have a flat sole and therefore are not suitable. We insist that all riders wear current British safety standard riding hats. We provide riding hats if required. If your hair is longer than shoulder length, you should make sure it is securely tied back.

Due to our insurance we are unable to accept any riders younger than 5 years old for lessons

No, as long as you are fit and able to mount independently, we can help facilitate this.

We offer a wide variety of horses to try and suit every rider, our current rider weight limit is 18 stone

We are accredited by the Trekking and Riding Society of Scotland and are also licensed by South Ayrshire Council with respects to our riding school.

For up to 12 year olds we always recommend a 15/15 as it is an ideal introduction with a 15 minute lesson and 15 minute hack, this gives a nice introduction to riding,  for teenagers and adults we would recommend a 30min private initially as this is the option for people who have not ridden before.

Although we recommend that all riders have their own hats, we do provide hats for use during the lessons.
